The Crane Opera Ensemble is proud of its Education Outreach activities associated with one production each academic year.

We offer pre-performance prep sessions conducted by cast members or specially designated education team leaders. The sessions run 30—45 minutes in length and are scheduled according to participating school’s schedules approximately 2 weeks prior to the performance. Supplemental materials are available to teachers who wish to review with students before they attend.

Schools groups who attend the morning matinee performance may choose to eat lunch on campus after (either pre-arranged at Lehman Dining Hall or they can bring their own lunch and eat in the Knowles Conference Center).  After lunch, a limited number of workshops are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Or, school groups may arrange for a campus tour through SUNY Potsdam’s Office of Admissions.

Note: our next education outreach performance will be on Wednesday, November 12, 10:00 AM for our production of the winners of the Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize. Post-performance workshops will be offered on a first-contact, first served basis.  Additional information will forth-coming by June 2014.  Don’t miss this exciting opportunity for your students!
